Sometimes getting away from everything is the only way to get yourself over the working man (or woman) blues. If you have the money that might not be an issue for you, but for the rest of us finding the right vacation that we can afford can be really hard. Fortunately there is the tried and true road trip vacation that can work for just about anybody.
The best road trips are taken in a camper van. Camper vans are timeless because you can usually fit a few of your closest friends and or family to go out on a nice road trip and forgot about the problems back home. Searching through your local classifieds for good used camper vans for sale can be a whole other problem. With all of the different types of vans clogging up the classifieds and Craigslist it can be tough finding the right van at the right price for you. Here are a few tips for finding the best used camper van for you:
- Make sure you have a price range that you are set on and stick to that.
- Try not to get sucked in to looking at camper vans that are too old. That VW might be nice but is it road worthy?
- Avoid camper vans that have a ton of add-ons. Are you on a road trip to watch DVD’s or to get away from it all?
- When you decide to finally test drive a used camper van take a close look at a few simple things. Oil level, tires, engine cleanliness, interior shape. All of those things will give you a good indication of how well the previous owner took care of the van.
- Finally, just drive the van a few miles. Remember, if it is not comfortable you will probably be spending a lot of time behind the wheel and that may not be the van for you.
Sticking to these few guidelines and not letting yourself get sucked in to buying a lemon can be the difference between a great vacation and a nightmare.
