I know in my case decorating can be a chore. But my girlfriend loves decorating and sometimes it’s just easier to let her tell me what to buy and where to put it! Recently she picked a weird looking table, a half moon table as she called it. This table is rounded on one side and flat-edged on the other. In case the name half moon table wasn’t enough of a description. Anyway I kept looking at her like “Where the heck are we gonna put this thing?” But when we got home (and I got to unload it off the truck of course…) she pointed at this spot in the hallway and said “put it there, numbskull,” and that’s when I realized that she had made an awesome choice!
A half moon table does a good job of creating a small showcase in the home that does not take up a lot of space. Also, if done well, these tables go a long ways toward adding to the decor of your home. In our case my girlfriend used that half moon table to display a flower vase and a picture from. She also had me place the table under a picture on the wall. This worked well as the table, flowers and picture complemented the picture on the wall quite well.
It is not always easy to add furniture to a home without killing needed space but a half moon table can pull off the job well. Take into consideration the amount of foot traffic the area deals with on a day to day basis and work with the surrounding decor to add an awesome piece without taking up to much space. When done right these tables can turn a plain setting and turn it into it’s own little island of cool.
